Childhood Anxiety Relieved By Canine Companion
Research from a study published by the National Center for Chronic Disease and Prevention shows that kids who have dogs as pets may have less anxiety than those who do not own dogs. Of a population of 643 kids, 360 who had dogs and 273 who did not, 12% of the kids who owned dogs tested positive for anxiety, while 21% of kids who did not own dogs tested positive. That is quite a difference.

Dog Helps Girl With Genetic Disorder Walk Again
Bella Burton has a rare genetic disorder called Morquio Syndrome, according to WCVB. This disorder has stunted her growth and hindered her mobility. She has had wheelchairs and walkers, but when her service dog, George came into her life, everything changed.
George, a handsome Great Dane, is the loyal working service dog in the Burton family. He goes everywhere with Bella, assuring that she can be just as mobile and active as any other child.
“Shelty” Saves The Day
According to Barbara Boone, she owes her life to her German Shepherd-Sheltie Terrier mix. Shelty, age 8 now, has been with her human since she was a puppy. According to KFOR, they have been inseparable since the beginning.
Boone usually employs a cane to assist her walking, and recently fell after she lost her balance. She says she fell and was unable to pull herself up off the floor. Shelty rushed to her side, and amazingly pulled Boone to the next room where she was able to lift herself up and call for help.
Shelty used the strong grip of her own teeth and jaw to tug the rug Boone was lying on into the next room. According to Boone, Shelty’s intuition and ingenuity saved her life that day.
Biker And Friend Riding For Vets
Scooter, the Chihuahua, loves to ride about as much as his human, Adam Sandoval. Together they make up the “Scootin America” team, logging in thousands of miles on Sandoval’s Harley Davidson motorcycle in an effort to raise funds for families of fallen veterans. Their trip is taking them to over 690 Harley Davidson dealerships across the United States.
While Sandoval has never served in the U.S. military, he is passionate about supporting veterans and their families. His current endeavor is an attempt to break two Guiness World Records and raise funds and awareness to help the families of fallen veterans. Diesel The Dog Saves His Owner From Bees
Kathy Nobles and her Cane Corso, Diesel, were walking with her other dog, Dozer, one summer evening this past June. Their walk took them near cranberry bogs near Plympton, Mass., where recently had been placed a few bee boxes. Unfortunately, Nobles was unaware of the bee boxes and strolled too close.
She was swarmed by bees, receiving stings all over. She recalls having them in her clothes, stinging her ears and lips too. Dozer fled, but Diesel remained close to Nobles, and pushed her in the direction away from the bees. Diesel had many stingers and became lethargic. After receiving care from VCA South Shore Animal Hospital, he has recovered well.
Both are doing well, and Nobles credits her furry friend with saving her.
