The story of Hachiko, the loyal Akita dog, is known worldwide. Hachiko would wait for his owner, Professor Ueno, at the Shibuya train station every day. When the professor died suddenly, Hachiko continued to wait for him at the station every day for nearly ten years until his own death. This heartwarming tale of loyalty has touched millions and stands as a testament to the bond between humans and their pets.

In 1969, two friends bought a lion cub from Harrods. As Christian the lion grew, it became clear that he could not live in London. The friends, with the help of conservationist George Adamson, reintroduced Christian to the wild. A year later, they returned to see if Christian would remember them. In 1996, a three-year-old boy fell into a gorilla enclosure at the Brookfield Zoo. Binti Jua, a female gorilla, cradled the unconscious boy and carried him to the zookeepers' door. In 1925, a diphtheria epidemic threatened Nome, Alaska. The serum was 674 miles away, and the only way to get it was by sled dog. Balto led his team through a blizzard, delivering the serum in just five and a half days. This heroic act saved countless lives and is commemorated by a statue in New York's Central Park.
